The ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law is accepting applications for its 3rd Labor and Employment Law Trial Institute, conducted in coordination with faculty from among NELC’s most distinguished trial lawyers, scheduled for September 7-10, 2023 in Chicago, Illinois. The Trial Institute is co-sponsored by the National Employment Law Council and Chicago-Kent College of Law. The Trial Institute is a comprehensive, 4-day trial skills training course specifically designed for mid-level labor and employment lawyers from all constituencies who are seeking to hone their jury trial skills. As a participant in the Trial Institute, you will learn from seasoned labor and employment practitioners as well as from experienced judges in a combination of lecture and hands-on interactive sessions focusing on successful techniques and strategies for trying employment cases. The training will culminate in an intensive mock trial where participants will apply what they have learned and receive real-time feedback.

The highlight of the Trial Institute training will be a simulated jury trial where participants will execute a full mock trial as counsel based on a cutting-edge employment law case problem and receive real-time performance feedback from faculty members and judges
